-Not many people in a given field work a territory that is solely theirs. George Carlin was one of the most distinctive comedy voices to ever take the stage...no one sounds quite like him, and it's a safe bet that not many comedians have Supreme Court decisions concerning their work. He can also lay claim to being the first host of Saturday Night Live.
George Carlin died last night of heart failure, age 71. He will be missed.
