One of the last bands you think of when you hear a children’s choir is Kings of Leon. The band posted a video on YouTube of an inside look at their upcoming single “Radioactive” which has a slightly different sound than what we’ve come to expect from Kings of Leon. The new album, Come Around Sundown, comes out October 19th.

George Mallory was obsessed with becoming the first person to conquer the untouched Mount Everest. Last seen 800 feet below the summit in 1924, the clouds rolled in and he disappeared into legend. His death stunned the world. 75 years later, climber Conrad Anker’s life became intertwined with Mallory’s after finding his frozen body with all his belongings intact. The only thing missing was a photograph of his wife, Ruth, which Mallory had promised to place on the summit. Haunted by Mallory’s story, Conrad returns to Everest to unravel the mysteries surrounding his disappearance.

It would not be the first film of John Belushi’s life, but it would be the first Belushi’s widow, Judith, supports, and is even participating in as the executive producer. In 1989, just seven years after Belushi’s overdose, the first film of the comedians life was released against the will of his family. Now, Todd Phillips, director of The Hangover and screenwriter of The Pursuit of Happiness, Steven Conrad are teaming up to produce a new biopic. Still no word on whether fellow comedian and House of Blues Radio Hour host Dan Aykroyd among other prominent figures from Belushi’s life will contribute.

Director Amir Bar-Lev is currently working on a biopic of Grateful Dead’s, Jerry Garcia. We guess the film will feature Garcia as a young, unknown guitarist, possibly how Grateful Dead was formed and the general music scene of the 60’s. But, there’s one thing it apparently WON’T feature. Grateful Dead Productions have made it very clear that they are in no way associated with the biopic and have also denied the film use of any music by Grateful Dead or Jerry Garcia as well as access to Garcia’s family members.

A year later Jimmy Page came along looking for bandmates for a new Yardbirds. And the rest, as they say, is history.

October 9^th would have been John Lennon’s 70^th birthday. To commemorate the late musician’s life, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Yoko Ono are filling three time capsules with Lennon’s solo recordings and are also letting fans contribute their memories and gifts for the Beatle.
