On this week’s edition of OverEasy, Todd Berryman commemorates February 5th, 2012 – a big day in Indianapolis history, in which our town becomes The Little Engine That Could. New England and New York face off, and it isn’t as simple as who has the best chowder this time.

Oh, it’ll be the usual selection of what Louis Armstrong used to call “the good ol’ good ones” for you on the show, of course, but we’ll augment with a few songs appropriate to the day, plus feature a brand new EP by Amos Lee called As the Crow Flies, recorded with Calexico during the sessions that spawned the Mission Bell album, including at least one song that has a football metaphor or two. It comes out on Valentine’s Day, but we’ll give you an early taste of it a week or so ahead of schedule.

This is one of the biggest and most exciting weeks in Indiana history. How can you honestly be expected to recover from the excitement and be bright and chipper on Monday morning for work? At WTTS, we understand how serious PSBS (Post Super Bowl Syndrome) can be.

We have prepared documents for you to print to excuse your inevitable tardiness, absence, or sleepiness while at work. Just add the necessary information, make sure to keep the document free from crumbs or barbeque sauce, and present the paperwork to your employer.

Download and print this document if you think you can manage to actually make it in to work…

…but our guess is you’ll need this one instead.

A Super Time in Super Indy

Indianapolis has been buzzing with activity leading up to the big game. We wanted to share some of our favorite images and moments from the festivities so far. Be sure to check out Paul’s Big Game Guide updates, as well!

This photo was snapped by Cathy before the festivities kicked off downtown. This photo doesn’t do justice to how enormous those Roman Numerals actually are!

This amazing shot was shared by the Indianapolis Super Bowl Committee. Jason Lavengood snapped the photo and captured Indiana’s racing heritage on display near Monument Circle.

Did you have a chance to try the zipline? Lines were long, but it looks like fun!

Preview OK Go’s Super Bowl Commercial

OK Go is teaming up with Chevy to create a massive and unusual composition using a car, 288 guitars, 55 pianos, and a number of homemade instruments. You can watch the ad on Sunday’s broadcast from Indy, but you can see the band as they prepare for the stunt below:

Ryan Adams and Michael McDonald Get Animated

Ryan Adams and Michael McDonald were animated for the 30 Rock spinoff web series, “The Donaghy Files.” The most recent episode features the musicians being called into the office of Jack Donaghy (voiced by Alec Baldwin) to rework theme songs from old NBC television shows. You can hear McDonald’s rendition of the “Saved by the Bell” theme and Adams’ reworking of the “Passions” theme song below. What do you think of their performances?

Dave Grohl’s Rock Star Sitcom

Dave Grohl of Foo Fighter and Nirvana fame will be making the leap to television. Grohl has signed on to help produce a half-hour sitcom for the FX network. He will act as executive producer for a show about a rock band on the verge of a breakup. Grohl has previous sitcom experience after working on a pilot for ABC. Lost George Harrison Guitar Solo Found

After 43 years, a George Harrison guitar solo from “Here Comes the Sun” has surfaced. George’s son Dhani, producer George Martin, and his son Giles listened through the master tapes of Abbey Road and discovered the solo. Even Harrison’s son didn’t have any idea about this lost solo.
