Gregory Hancock Dance Theatre Presents American Classics on August 13th & 14th, 8pm at the Pike Performing Arts Center, with remarkable dance adaptations of two literary masterpieces, Our Town and The Scarlet Letter.
Our Town is set in an Amish village, and danced to the colorful music of American composer, Aaron Copland.
The Scarlet Letter has been adapted to tell the story of Marilyn Monroe. This bold and contemporary portrayal of The Scarlet Letter is set to the music of Annie Lennox.

Todd Snider Live – Hillbilly Haiku Americana Music Series
The Hillbilly Haiku Americana Music Series is an annual outdoor concert hosted by Upland Brewing Co. This year’s concert is on Friday, September 3rd, with headliner Todd Snider, supported by TV Mike and the Scarecrows (a California-based band with Indiana roots) and local favorite The Elly Maze.
Food, including vegetarian options, will be available, along with several Upland brews and other beverages.
The concert will be outdoors on the Upland Brewery grounds, 350 West 11th Street in Bloomington. Tickets are general admission, and you are welcome to bring blankets and camping chairs. It starts at 6pm, with doors opening at 5pm. Tickets are $25 on the day of the show, and $20 in advance, available at Upland’s Bloomington Tap Room, Indy Tasting Room, the Buskirk Chumley Theatre, and online at buskirkchumley.org. Food and beverage tickets will be available for purchase inside the gate. 100% of the proceeds benefit the Sycamore Land Trust.
