Free Download Of The Week: Field Report

Field Report
Milwaukee-based Field Report released their sophomore effort Marigolden on October 7th via Partisan Records. Since the release of their self-titled debut last year, the band has whittled itself from a septet to a quartet, focusing its sound and tightening the screws. They retreated to snowy Ontario last December with producer Robbie Lackritz (Feist) to work on their second release. The result is a brighter album than their last, but something that remains as elegantly ominous. Download “Home (Leave The Lights On)” from Marigolden and learn more about Field Report at their Official Website, “Like” them on Facebook, and follow them on Twitter.

From his pioneering work in the ’80s with Hüsker Dü to his time with Sugar in the ’90s and up through his solo work today, Bob Mould has always been an indie icon. His latest effort, Beauty & Ruin, serves as a reflective follow up to 2012’s Silver Age. Shortly after the release of Silver, Mould’s father passed away. This life event inspired him to return to the studio and create his eleventh solo album. Download “I Don’t Know You Anymore” from Beauty & Ruin and learn more about Bob Mould at his Official Website, “Like” him on Facebook, and follow him on Twitter.
