Bombay Bicycle Club

This past February, North London’s Bombay Bicycle Club released their fourth album in five years, So Long, See You Tomorrow, through Vagrant Records. According  to frontman and songwriter Jack Steadman, crafting the album took longer than usual. Most of the songs were written during his travels through India, Turkey, and Tokyo, as well as the UK and the Netherlands. Now that the album is complete, Steadman is pleased with the results, “I feel like we’ve found the balance between making it interesting and intelligent, but also not highbrow or elitist.” Download “Luna” from So Long, See You Tomorrow and learn more about Bombay Bicycle Club at their Official Website, “Like” them on Facebook, and follow them on Twitter.

James Vincent McMorrow
Irish singer-songwriter James Vincent McMorrow is back with his follow up to 2011′s critically acclaimed Early In The Morning. Regarding his sophomore release, Post Tropical, McMorrow states, “It’s so exhausting trying to keep up with styles of music that pop up one week, and disappear the next. For me, [the album] evokes a style of music without you having a clue what it sounds like. It’s warm and familiar, but there’s something there that’s maybe not quite what you think it is. I just wanted to make the most beautiful thing that I could imagine. And that was it.” Download “Gold” from Post Tropical and learn more about James Vincent McMorrow at his Official Website, “Like” him on Facebook, and follow him on Twitter.

Philadelphia’s Dr. Dog released their 7th full length album, B-Room, this past October on Anti- Records. The album, like many of their others, is heavily influenced by their Philly roots. When asked about the city’s role in their music, bassist-vocalist Toby Leaman pointed out that many of the famous acts coming out of Philly were collaborations, from Eddie Lang and Joe Venuti to Hall and Oates. In his words, “Just a bunch of weirdoes playing music and taking risks together.” Dr. Dog fits that bill. Download “Distant Light” from B-Room and learn more about the group at their Official Website, “Like” them on Facebook, and follow them on Twitter.
