Although known for his guitar work with Hüsker Dü and Sugar, Bob Mould has been making solo records since 1989. Last Friday he released his 12th solo album Patch the Sky. Similar to his first album Workbook, Mould withdrew from everyday life and wrote in solitude for six months. The result is his darkest album to date, however, it is also his catchiest. “I always aim for the perfect balance of bright melodies and dark stories,” Mould said in a press release. “I’ve used this juxtaposition for years. This time, I’ve tuned it to high contrast.” Download “Voices In My Head” off Patch the Sky and learn more about Bob Mould at his Official Website, “Like” him on Facebook, and follow him on Twitter.
