‘WTTS In Conversation’ is a bi-weekly podcast delivering decades of WTTS interviews with music legends and emerging artists.
For Episode #40, The Gov’t Mule frontman joins morning host Matt Pelsor to talk about their latest album, Heavy Load Blues. He explains how the recording process was unlike any other album they’ve done, and hints at the next record–both of which they recorded simultaneously. He also shares the unique way they decide what to play on any given night.
Gov’t Mule plays the Nickel Plate District Amphitheater on Friday, August 19th.

The room was packed. The lights were dim. It was just Warren Haynes and his guitar. The sweet sounds from one note to another were like musical poetry to one’s ears. Not to mention, making fun of the government the day it shuts down will always be a priceless moment in the history of Sun King Studio 92 Powered By Klipsch Audio. Check out the performance here. Below are photos from the meet and greet with the lucky VIP’s who got to attend this special session.

92-3 WTTS is turning 25! It was 1992 when WTTS launched a different kind of radio station. “World Class Rock” was on the air and now, 25 years later, we’re still at, and still independently owned and operated.
Now through August 25th, we’ll remember the music, movies, news and happenings of each year since our 1992 debut. It’s 25 Years In 25 Days. Hear these hour-long flashbacks weekdays at noon and 6pm, with replays from the week every Saturday morning from 7 to noon. 25 Years In 25 Days, presented by Puccini’s Pizza and Pasta, and brought to you by McGee Jewelers, Noah’s Animal Hospital, Brothers Floor Covering, and the Bar Band Bar Crawl.
Stop by any of these locations for great shows that are a part of the Bar Band Bar Crawl, Wednesday-Friday nights thru September 1st. Drink Specials provided by Evan Williams, Larceny Bourbon, and Lunazul Tequila.

And so it begins. Our journey to Bonnaroo is mere hours away; a summertime tradition unlike any other. Music, art, mud, and more music and mud. When I first went to Bonnaroo back in 2004, I thought it would be something cool to do maybe once. Six years later, and I’m back again. If you’ve never been in the middle of a 200-acre field miles from civilization with limited cell coverage (or showers), it really is something to experience. That’s just a small piece of the charm-aroo that is Bonnaroo. Oh yeah, and the festival is a collection of the best bands on Earth and has become the premiere musical event in the U.S.
So here we are, about to depart for Manchester, TN. Laura Duncan and I will broadcast live from the Bonnaroo backstage studios Friday and Saturday afternoon, complete with artist interviews, live performances and up-to-the-minute reports on the goings-on from the ‘Roo. We’re also turning the WTTS Blog into the Blogaroo (clever, huh?) – follow along for exclusive photos, interviews and fun content to keep you connected. –Brad Holtz (6/9/10)
