Jerry Cantrell Working On New Solo Record

  • With Alice In Chains taking the year off following the conclusion of their “Rainier Fog” tour, Jerry Cantrell has some time on his hands.
  • So the guitarist is picking back up his solo project, confirming in a recent interview with Gibson that his first full-length release since 2002’s Degradation Trip is on the way.
  • Perhaps he’ll call up some friends for this new record. On Degradation Trip, Cantrell enlisted Metallica’s Robert Trujillo on bass and Faith No More drummer Mike Bordin.
  • Cantrell also reveals that there are some “exciting” things in the works, hinting, “I don’t wanna say just yet what’s happening, but I can tell you that there’s gonna be some cool s**t happening this year.”

Which solo-projects have you followed? How do they compare to the main bands?
