The Black Keys With Gary Clark Jr. and the Marcus King Band Friday, July 24 Ruoff Music Center On Sale: Now
It’s a good thing the disappointment barely had time to set in; Neil Young will tour with Crazy Horse this year after all.
In a reversal of last week’s “Don’t expect anything” message, the newly minted American citizen announced Sunday on his website that he will launch a “Barn Tour” of vintage venues.
“So we have decided to play the old arenas – not the new sports facilities put up by corporations for their sports teams. Largely soulless, these new buildings cost a fortune to play in,” wrote Young, adding a list of potential stops.
No dates are listed, but Young caps the post noting, “We will hopefully be in one of the existing arenas. Hope to see you there. News coming pretty soon!”
Which was one of your favorite venues that is now gone?
The Black Keys will be teaming up with Gary Clark Jr. for another leg of their Let’s Rock tour this summer.

Tickets for all dates go on sale this Friday, Feb. 28, and WTTS is giving some away!
To win tickets, listen each morning between Feb. 24–28, at 6:05, 7:05 and 8:05 a.m. for Paul Mendenhall to announce when we will play The Black Keys Back-to-Back.

Those attending Eric Clapton’s tribute concert in honor of his late Cream bandmate were in for a huge treat.
In addition to Slowhand, Monday night’s event, dubbed Eric Clapton & Friends: A Tribute to Ginger Baker, featured Roger Waters, Steve Winwood, Ronnie Wood, Nile Rodgers, and Kenney Jones.
Also taking the star-studded stage at London’s Eventim Apollo Hammersmith was Baker’s son Kofi.
Funds raised at the show go to Leonard Cheshire, a UK charity close to the Baker family, which supports the disabled through education, employment, and assistance with independent living.
Where would you rank Baker on a list of drum greats?
In recognition of his “Services To Music,” Elvis Costello has been named an Officer of the Order of the British Empire. The ceremony took place on Friday at Buckingham Palace with Prince Charles bestowing the honors.
“Among many things I’ve been given, it’s one that somebody decided I deserve and all you can say is ‘thank you’,” the rocker said following the event.
Costello sang a different tune than when it was announced that he would receive the OBE, joking last year that it “confirms my long-held suspicion nobody really listens to the words in songs or the outcome might have been somewhat different.”
Which other rockers have received such honors from the British crown?
