Phosphorescent is the stage name of singer-songwriter Matthew Houck. Now based in Brooklyn, Houck began his career in Athens, Georgia. He released his debut full length, A Hundred Times Or More, under the name “Phosphorescent” in 2003. Prior to that, he had used the stage name Fillup Shack.     I saw Phosphorescent at The Bishop in March and what seems like only a few weeks later, they did a wonderful performance of Song for Zula on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, with an orchestra. Crazy talent.
