  1. April Streeval says:

Dark Side of the Moon (either side) – Pink Floyd
    Rio- Duran Duran side 1
Purple Rain – Prince side 2

  2. Va says:

At least one full side of Goodbye Yellow Brick Road. Or Running on Empty. Or Every Picture Tells A Story. Satisfy us on the oldies front in a single whomp and then get on to Better Things (obscure Kinks reference). x

  3. Purple Rain – Prince side 2 is a great choice. Rock on, April!

I’m thinking side 2 of Pet Sounds, Highway 61 Revisited side 1 and side 2 of Innervisions. Three AMAZING album sides!

Thanks for doing this every year. It’s always fun.

  4. MudsockIndiana says:

Honky Tonk Heroes* – Waylon Jennings (side 1)
Dreaming My Dreams* – Waylon Jennings (either side)
Datura Seeds (Paul Mayhern band post-Zero Boys) – Who Do You Want It To Be? (side 1)
A Night On The Town – Bruce Hornsby (side 1)

  6. jrwondra says:

Oh ny! What great suggestions; including “Running on Empty” and DSoTM.
But what about ANY side from “Four Way Street” and “Yessongs?”

  7. Lashelle says:

    I need to add:

    Police – Synchronicity – side 2

  8. Nirvana- Nevermind, Side 1
    Eric Clapton- Slowhand, Side 1
The Rolling Stones- Sticky Fingers, Side 1
The Beatles- Sgt. Pepper, Side 1
The Beatles- Abbey Road, Side 2 (obviously)
The Beatles- Let It Be…Naked, Side 2
    U2- Joshua Tree, Side 1
Bob Dylan- Highway 61 Revisited, Side 1
George Harrison- All Things Must Pass, Side 1
Beastie Boys- Licensed To Ill, Side 2
Simon & Garfunkel- Bridge Over Troubled Water, Side 1

  9. Mike says:

Album Side Saturday is my favorite day of the year. Sad, but true. Since last year’s special day, I’ve been thinking about album sides. As I recall, there are normally 10 covered. So, here are ten that deserve consideration, but in no particular order:

Abbey Road, side two, because it’s the most perfect album side ever created. In fact, if you played just the Golden Slumbers medley every night at midnight, I would stay up that late every day, damn the consequences.

Moondance, Van the Man, side one. Anyone who votes against this should not be on the radio. Ever. Anywhere.

The Police, Synchronicity, side two. For the uninitiated, well, listen and learn.

Elton John. Here I’m torn between Captain Fantastic, side one, or Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, side two. Your pick.

Bruce, Born to Run, side two. Don’t make Clarence’s ghost haunt you for eternity.

There has to be a Floyd cut. Period. So many work, but I long to hear Wish You Were Here, side two.

American Beauty, the Dead, side one. The band liked it so much, they spent the rest of their careers trying to make the same album. But it’s a keeper indeed.

Blonde on Blonde, side two, because its the best work of the best songwriter and everyone should know and love Dylan.

Zeppelin, IV, side one. Or II, side one. Either way, society befits from your radio benevolence.

Controversy alert: these are not standard TTS fare. But frankly, music that must be listened to.

ZZ Top, Tres Hombres, side one. Besides, we like the car.

Boston, Boston. Side one. We turn up the volume when we do hear it. Because we like it. (And it didn’t sell millions of copies cuz it sucked.)

Now, if we can sneak in another of the Fab Four, Revolver (British or new US release, not the original release), side two. This is really what kicked rock in the ass, even before Sgt. Pepper.

On album side Sunday, because we aren’t satisfied:
    Neil Young, Harvest, 2
    Paul Simon, Graceland, 1
    CSN, Deja Vu, 1

Oh good lord. I could go on. Instead, back to the salt mines. The sad, music-less salt mines

  10. Play side two of Tumbleweed Connection, either side of Steely Dan’s Asia, Janis Joplin’s Pearl either side, and Fleetwood Mac’s first album with Buckingham Nicks side one.

  11. Rob Bocko says:

Jackson Browne, Running on Empty, side 2
Neil Young, Harvest Moon, side 1
    Boston, Boston, side 2
    Rush, Exit… Stage Left, side 2 &/or side 4

  12. John Brennan says:

    time fades away NeilYoung

  13. MJ says:

STYX…”The Grand Illusion” Side 1 and side 2

  14. Elaine says:

While I certainly appreciate album side Sat., I’m hoping for some new considerations this time around. ‘Classic’ rock, it appears, seems to be a male dominated genre. How about throwing in some Heart this year? Maybe side 1 of ‘Dreamboat Annie’ or side 1 of ‘Little Queen’. (great way to promo their upcoming concert here this summer too). And, if that seems more than the masses can take, how about at least giving some air play to ‘Dog and Butterfly’ on over easy the following Sun.

  15. Elaine says:

I would additionally like to request the following for consideration:

Side 1 of Aerosmith “Rocks” (or, any side of Toys in the Attic, or, any side of their self titled ‘Aerosmith’)

Any side of Supertramp “Crime of the Century” or “Breakfast in America”

I would also like to 2nd any side of CSNY “4 Way Street and side 1 of Steely Dan “Aja”

and, I trust you will play something from the Beatles, my preference would be from the White Album

likewise, I suspect some zeppelin (since they are the greatest rock and roll band of all time), any side of II or any side of Houses of the Holy would be great

  16. Amy says:

Any Led Zeppelin, any Neil Young, Robin Trower- Bridge Of Sighs, Widespread Panic- Ball, any Foo Fighters, Deep Purple- Machine Head

  17. Dave says:
