Donate To Hurricane Sandy Relief Efforts

3 Comments 30 October 2012

Though the worst of the storm has passed, the effects of Hurricane Sandy still linger.  Millions are without power, thousands have been displaced from their homes, and at least 75 are confirmed dead.

American Red Cross blood donation centers all over the country are in need of donations.  To donate, call 1-800-RED-CROSS (1-800-733-2767), visit, or mail donations to your nearest Red Cross Shelter (or or to the American Red Cross, P.O. Box 37243, Washington, DC 20013.)

You can also text REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation.

To make a $10 donation to the Salvation Army, text STORM to 80888. Learn more about Salvation Army relief efforts.

I don’t care who you vote for, what clothes you wear or where you are from. Please, those going through this hurricane…work together and help each other out. These are the times when we Americans need to Unite and be there for each other. Show the world that we are kind, helpful, good neighbors. God bless you all on the coast – wish I could be there to help out.

Are there any Annimal Rescue Funds set-up? How do we help animals, both pets and those that were injured or displaced in the wild?

ASPCA is taking donations to help with injured and displaced animals. We’ve updated the site to include their link.
