Donate To Hurricane Sandy Relief Efforts

3 Comments 30 October 2012

Though the worst of the storm has passed, the effects of Hurricane Sandy still linger.  Millions are without power, thousands have been displaced from their homes, and at least 75 are confirmed dead.

American Red Cross blood donation centers all over the country are in need of donations.  To donate, call 1-800-RED-CROSS (1-800-733-2767), visit redcross.org, or mail donations to your nearest Red Cross Shelter (or or to the American Red Cross, P.O. Box 37243, Washington, DC 20013.)

You can also text REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation.

To make a $10 donation to the Salvation Army, text STORM to 80888. Learn more about Salvation Army relief efforts.

Consisting of Welsh brothers Joseph and Sebastian Keefe and Americans Christina Schroeter and James Buckey, Los Angeles-based Family Of The Year first made a name for themselves in 2009 opening for Ben Folds and Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros.  Following the release their first full length album in 2009 and three EPs, Family Of The Year released their second full length studio effort, Loma Vista, in July.  Learn more about Family Of The Year at their Official Website, like them on Facebook, and follow them on Twitter. At this time, we are no longer able to offer a free download of “Hero” from Loma Vista. However, visit our Free Download Of The Week page for new downloadable songs.
