The best new releases from the independent music scene, this week on WTTS Indy Underground. Now that Bloom has been released in its entirety, we’ll spend a little more time looking at what the latest from Beach House has to offer. The Shins’ Port of Morrow has plenty of good tracks to choose from. Somehow, we’ll pick just one to share. And Feist recently dropped by our Sun King Studio 92 for a set, just the excuse we need to talk about what she’s up to and share our exclusive material.
The Wailers come to the Bluebird in Bloomington May 31st. We’ll give you another chance to win tickets to that as well. All this and more, tonight at 8 on WTTS Indy Underground.
We move on to the summer releases, this week on WTTS New Music Monday. Alanis Morissette and a reunited Neil Young and Crazy Horse headline the group, with albums planned for August and June, respectively.
Before that, we’ll take a look at Garbage’s Not Your Kind of People (just barely a week old) and give one final preview of the decidedly Americana-sounding Shadow Days from John Mayer.
Train and Jack White round out the lineup. Every week at 7pm, it’s an hour of all-new world class rock on WTTS New Music Monday.
Laid back World Class Rock abounds Sunday on WTTS Overeasy. We’ll play new music from Shawn Colvin, Cassandra Wilson, and Michael Kiwanuka, along with some of our favorite recent Sun King Studio 92 performances, as is our custom.
Father John Misty will also be featured. You may not think you know him, but you also may be surprised. The former drummer from Fleet Foxes has released 7 full-lengths and a handful of EP’s under J. Tillman (the J is for Joshua). This is just the first under the new moniker.
In what has been a frequent occurrence as of late, Brad Holtz will yet again be giving away tickets to Punch Brothers, June 6th at the Palladium in Carmel. This Sunday, 7-11 AM and PM, it’s WTTS Overeasy.
