John Mayer recently canceled his U.S. tour and will take an indefinite hiatus from live performing due to the return of the granuloma in his throat. His new album Born and Raised will be released as planned on May 22, 2012. Mayer has released a new video for “Shadow Days” as the release approaches. In addition to the different sound on the album, Mayer also seems to be taking a different approach to his look and attitude. Watch the clip below:

Love JM since the beginning. Always felt he was this geeky boy with more talent than he could handle mentally. It’s tough out there! I feel like he’s taken a step back and looked at life in another light because it just wasn’t working for him. His music seems to reflect whatever phase he’s in. Now he’s trying to connect with his inner being and leave the Hollywood bad boy behind. Good for you John, at the end of the day we have to live with us. No matter what he’s playing and singing he will always do it well. Love you John, take care of that throat. Looking forward to this album and having you back to entertaining us.
