WTTS OverEasy, April 1, 2012

Comments Off 31 March 2012

This week on WTTS Overeasy, we look at the new self-titled release from singer-songwriter Mindy Smith. The laid back, newly independent artist goes for it a 5th time June 26th. Paul McCartney has gotten together a bunch of his closest friends to help out on his latest, Kisses on the Bottom (even while he and his old bandmates plan a release of one of the classics). We’ll take another look at that, along with the first collaboration of husband-wife duo Tedeschi Trucks Band.

Be sure to join Brad Holtz for the morning edition for a chance to win a pair of tickets to Good Old War April 15th at the Bluebird. This Sunday, 7-11 AM and PM, it’s WTTS Overeasy.

Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros Show Cancelled

Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros Show Cancelled

Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros’ May 22nd performance at the Egyptian Room at Old National Centre has been cancelled. Lead singer, Alex Ebert, made the following statement:

I am very sorry to say that, on reviewing our May schedule, I feel I need to create a few more days off than were planned, as we are now doing longer shows and I am learning how taxing longer shows are on my voice.

In order to have a few more days off to prevent me from destroying my vocal chords, we are going to have to cancel a few shows. I am extremely hesitant to do this but feel it’s best.

I live and learn. And I promise to those of you who have already bought tickets for one of the shows that will be cancelled, I will do a much better job in the future of ensuring that we are not in this position again.

With Gratitude,

Alex Ebert

WTTS Indy Underground – March 26, 2012

This week on WTTS Indy Underground, more from Gotye’s international breakthrough Making Mirrors, The Temper Trap’s self-titled sophomore album, and previews of upcoming albums that form the best of the independent music scene.

Trying to prove they’re not a one-and-done, concept band Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros return for another go on Here. Seemingly less fanfare will surround the May 29th release than with their debut, but that will change when some of the new songs almost certainly end up featured on their ongoing full-length musical.

All this and more, tonight at 8 on WTTS Indy Underground.
