Elton John has confirmed that his life will be the subject of a film. Details are scant at this point, but Sir Elton has stated that that he has a wishlist of actor’s that he would like to portray him. On the top of his list is popstar turned actor, Justin Timberlake.
Timberlake would be a fitting choice since he has already played a young Elton in a previously released video. Check out his performance and tell us how you think Timberlake would do in the film:
I take it Justin was lip-syncing to the real Elton. Pretty good, but he is a little too tall & thin. If he could really sound like Elton, he’d probably do well playing him in a movie.
I just don’t buy Mr. Timberlake physically as Elton John at all. He seems like an ‘easy’ choice. If I were casting I’d cast my net wider and see what others might have. We could be really surprised at what could be found.
I think he could pull it off, but I”d agree with the first comment, he needs to put on a few pounds. Elton had a slightly rounder/chubbier face when he was younger. But I actually don’t think Timberlake is that far off, I think we’re just too used to the older, more plump Elton John of the present.
