The ICM Film Agency has been given access to the music of the Grateful Dead to utilize in a narrative-style feature film built around their songs. A similar project was undertaken as twenty Beatles songs were re-recorded and woven into the Across the Universe feature film. The film is expected to utilize the songs to capture the spirit of Haight-Ashbury in the late 60’s and early 70’s.

If you haven’t seen Across the Universe, watch the trailer below and tell us what you think of this potential use of the Grateful Dead’s music!

Also this week, a previously unreleased track from the Dodos, and a new one from Noisettes, included on the soundtrack for Twilight: Breaking Dawn.
