Very listener friendly and similar to their music in recent years. I like it, but I hope the other tracks on the CD pay homage to their harder edge. The “hey-la” chorus is a bit cheesy but the cow bell is a nice touch!
I heard this the other day on the Chili Peppers website. I still have the same impression. It’s good, not great. I’m with Julie, nice touch with the cow bell. I guarantee you that if we all saw this ‘live’ we would all be saying “great song”. Speaking of, I looked to see if they were actually coming to IN for the first time. Not only do they not like Indiana they seem to be unhappy with the United States.
I am a HUGE Frusciante fan, so admittedly, I am struggling with this a bit. I agree with Dave in that if we saw this live we’d probably all be saying “great song”, but it lacks that immediate impact that Frusciante era Peppers always had on me. That is probably me wanting Josh to be John, which is a very unjust perspective to have. It will not stop me, however, from buying the album and seeing them on tour. This band has been a major player in the soundtrack that is my life…….I need to listen to the album entirely and give it some time to absorb before I make a hasty judgement call.
I saw them at Woodstock ’94. Flea was wearing a giant light bulb on his head and a sock on his,..well,..you know. Always a great band live,…do not go gently into that good night boys,…
Not bad, anxious to hear the rest though?!
I don’t hate it but I don’t love it. Hopefully it grows on me
I’m Ron Burgundy?
I like it. I find the Chili Peppers’ songs get better the deeper you get into the album. I think it should a solid release.
Also, more cowbell please!!!!
Peppers need to go back to the old GARAGE style music. They were a much better band then.

Sounds like Top 40 ……disappointing.
Good song. I like the beat.

Ok, nothing special. Too bad, they are due.
Not bad. I am waiting to hear flea on the piano though!
Am I the only one who feels as if the peppers recent singles sound very similar to one another?
Me likes! Gotta hear the rest
It does’nt suck but even if it did I would’nt care much. Just as long as we get a chance to see’em live! Hope they make it round here somewhere…

Hey Ron! These guys give just enough funk.
Their sound a bit more meloy, but there’s nothing wrong with that. As always, great dance music.
