The long-anticipated collaboration by G. Love with help from the Avett Brothers is finally out, including covers of a couple of blues standards, a Paul Simon favorite and a Lou Reed song. There are also a bunch of G. Love originals, some of which have been in his songbook for a long time, but are only now seeing the light of day.
The Avett Brothers produced the album at Echo Mountain Studios in Asheville, North Carolina, the building being a former church. Echo Mountain has also seen recording by Steve Martin in his bluegrass mode, along with the Steep Canyon Rangers.
