According to RollingStone.com, the feud between Kings of Leon and Glee creator Ryan Murphy intensified yesterday. Tweeting in response to Murphy’s claim in the Hollywood Reporter that his band are “self-centered a–holes” for declining a request to include one of their songs in his hit television series, Kings drummer Nathan Followill suggested that the producer “see a therapist, get a manicure, buy a new bra.” (The tweet has since been deleted.)
In the same tweet, Followill also told Murphy to “zip your lip and focus on educating seven-year-olds how to say f–k,” effectively surrendering the high ground in the conflict established by his brother and bandmate Caleb in the same Hollywood Reporter piece. When asked to comment on the Glee executive producer’s anger toward the band for rejecting the show, Caleb simply explained that at the time the band had never seen the program and were no longer interested in promoting their hit single “Use Somebody.”
