Farm Aid 25 was October 2nd at Milwaukee’s Miller Park. Our own Larry Philpot was there with his camera and the photos he brought home are awesome!

Excellent job ! ! ! From a fellow shutterbug, thank you. Those are great. Inspires me to write a letter to St Louis’ KSHE 95 and see if I can do similar for them. I just turned 60 tears young and still attend over 100 shows a year. In my retirement years shortly ahead, my dream would be to help compensate for my expenses. So far, I’ve done everything just for my own enjoyment. Never been paid. Never sold a frame. Given hundreds away.
Great Photos! Thanks for the slide show! For those of us who don’t recognize the musicians by sight, captions would be very nice.
Ragweed Rick, thank you for the kind words, and know that I feel your pain. This is the first year that I haven’t had to pay to go to Farm Aid, but also be aware that a good radio station can open doors you didn’t know existed before. St. Louis has some great venues. Even if you were the house photographer for Blueberry Hill, you’ll meet a ton of celebs, and drink for free! At $7 a shot, you’ll break even in no time! Good luck, my friend.
Lesa,
The gray haired woman with the microphone is Willie Nelson’s wife. The longer haired rocker with the starburst stratocaster is Willie’s son, Lukas. The longer haired rocker in the blue shirt is emerging artist Robert Francis. Accordion player Troye Kinnett, drummer Dane Clark, Bassist Jon E Gee in the black suit, as well as the female fiddle player Miriam Sturm, and the other guitarist in the suit and tie is Andy York, all of John Mellencamp’s band.
The hottie piano player is Norah Jones, and the single female a few frames after is Sasha Dobson, who has her own band, but sings also with Norah Jones.
We had captions on the photos, but we installed the slideshow software in the early morning hours and can’t get them to show up. If someone knows how to make that happen in NextGen Gallery for WordPress, please let me know.
We went ahead with this because WTTS listeners like their music and their photos hot off the grille. Thank you for your comments. We appreciate all feedback, and thank you for taking the time to view the rather lengthy slideshow.
Wow! Those are absolutely amazing photos!!
As the slide show went on my “favorites” list seemed to get bigger and bigger.
Great Job!!!!!!
Great photos, Larry! Longtime JM fan here. Love all the band shots, too! I was at the show…amazing, probably one of the best I have attended in the past 8 years.
