Vampire Weekend Sued
She could buy LOTS of Polo shirts with that kind of money!
Indie artists love all things vintage. When Vampire Weekend
went looking for an image for their sophomore release, Contra
, they chose a 1983 photo of a young woman wearing a Polo shirt with a popped collar. Photographer Tod Brody captured the shot, but the subject says he did not get her permission to use it. Kirsten Kennis claims the release Brody provided Vampire Weekend includes a forgery of her signature. The complaint is outlined in a lawsuit filed in Los Angeles Superior Court asking for $2-million in damages from the band and the photographer.
