Jerry Garcia Day…at the Ballpark?

5 Comments 13 July 2010

If you plan on attending a Cubs game this year, we highly recommend taking a trip to San Francisco for Jerry Garcia Day.

This year marks the 15th anniversary of the death of Grateful Dead guitarist Jerry Garcia, and the Giants are celebrating his life during their August 9th home game against the Cubs. Bob Weir will sing the National Anthem, Annabelle, Garcia’s daughter, will throw the first pitch and for the performance of “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” part of the 7th inning stretch, Mickey Hart could possibly break a world record in way of the largest kazoo ensemble.

Too Cool! Wish I could go. I remember Jerry’s last show at Deer Creek when the fence came down. Sure do miss him.

The Dead still live in my heart every day! So glad to see their greatness still being recognized in a big public forum like this!

That show when the fence came down was my first and last Dead show. It was wonderful and I’m sorry I didn’t go to any before. :(
