In 1993, John Fogerty entered the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Creedence Clearwater Revival. This summer, he’s getting a Hall of Fame nod for his solo career, but this time the trip won’t be to Cleveland, it’ll be to Cooperstown. The Baseball Hall of Fame will honor Fogerty for “Centerfield” at this July’s Induction Ceremony. The song has kicked off festivities at the Hall for more than a decade. This marks the first time any song or musician has been so honored. The album Centerfield is 25-years-old this year and is due for an Anniversary Edition June 29th.
