Once upon a time, Todd’s parents hosted a party while they were living in Michigan. One of Todd’s parents’ friends had an open reel recorder, and brought it over to be used at the party. One of the tapes that Todd’s parents’ friend brought over to use on the open reel recorder was Carole King’s Tapestry. Todd’s mom hated the music of Carole King in general and Tapestry in specific.
Since Todd loves his mother, he’s featuring a new collection, The Essential Carole King, on this Sunday’s show, so he won’t play it on Mother’s Day, which would be the equivalent of seeking out cracks in the sidewalk as far as he’s concerned. He’s also giving you a chance to win a copy of that very album plus a DVD with Carole King and James Taylor called Live at the Troubadour.
As far as Todd knows, Todd’s mom likes James Taylor. Although she doesn’t own any of his albums. So it’s difficult to say. It could go either way.
Mom, you may want to avert your eyes at this point.
