When You’re Strange: A Film About The Doors

2 Comments 09 April 2010

Jim Morrison, in his own words, that’s the point of the new film When You’re Strange. Surprisingly, it’s the first feature-length documentary about The Doors. When You’re Strange is narrated by Johnny Depp and draws from hours of previously unseen footage of the band documenting their history from 1965 when Jim Morrison and Ray Manzarek met at UCLA to the singer’s untimely death in 1971. When You’re Strange made the festival circuit including Sundance and is now open in select cities. Indy is not currently on the list, but the film’s website promises more to come.

Finally, as expose’ with original footage, rather than Hollywood’s over-dramatized version of The Doors. I’ll be looking forward to viewing the film.

We truly miss our tortured poet. RIP Jim.

I am so excited to see this film! I’ve been obsessed with Jim since high school. I’ve been to his grave in Paris and to the Cleveland Rock and Roll Hall of Fame when they did an extended feature exhibit on The Doors! I love learning new things about his life and can’t wait to see the documentary…especially given that my Hollywood crush, Johnny Depp, will be the narrator for this film!
