Fork in the Road: Craig's last minute packing panic

Comments Off on Fork in the Road: Craig's last minute packing panic 17 July 2009

I don’t know why I always wait until the last minute to pack…

What did I forget?! I packed my camera but I know I took it our for the Mr. Grizzle photo shoot…Oh, and my phone charger. I didn’t forget it! Wait…is this the right one? My hipster PDA needs some extra pages…

While I sort out which shorts will be the best for a hot weekend in the sun, enjoy some of my listening list for my packing frustration:

Emitt Rhodes- The Emitt Rhodes Recordings (1969-1973)
Rhodes may be a somewhat obscure name, but he certainly lived up to his nickname of “The one-man Beatles.” He only released four solo albums and contributed his skill with multiple instruments to projects including The Palace Guard and The Merry-Go-Round. After an 11-year career, Rhodes called it quit and opened a recording studio. Better to burn out than fade away, I suppose…

Stevie Wonder – Innervisions
Any time is a good time for Stevie; specially Stevie in his creative prime. I’ve bought this album multiple times from wearing them out. These songs are classic and the album falls very high on my list of all-time favorites. It simply takes you to a different place…and that’s good since we are literally going to a different place this weekend.

The Features-Some Kind of Salvation
Expect big things from this band. They opened for Kings of Leon and were subsequently signed to their brand new label. “Lions” is incredibly catchy and I can’t keep myself from singing, “oh-oh-oh-ah-ah-oh!” A great first effort from an up-and-coming band. The vocals are a little quiet in this live video, but you can still hear why a lot of people are talking about this band.

Anyways, I need to find some socks that match. What else should I take a listen to in order to pass the time and make this slightly less tedious?
